Answering journalists question on the funding of the site, Mr. Maroney said that the funding has been done in his own personal capacity and also from a couple of private investors. He mentioned that he hopes to recover the investments in the next couple of quarters. He said that once the site is fully functional and traffic reaches to the desired target the break-even can be easily achieved.
He mentioned that funds meant for merit scholarships remain under utilized because information is not reaching the desired audience. CollegeTreasure.com will ensure that American students get the desired benefit by utilizing these funds. He plans to expand the site to include scholarships for international students in the future.
